Bullion American Silver Eagles Top November Sales Midway into December

in American Silver Eagle News

United States Mint 2011 bullion American Silver Eagles have taken off in December. By Wednesday, December 14, they hit 1,406,000 to eclipse the 1,384,000 sold in November.

Granted, November was a bit dismal for the coins compared to recent times as the month earned the title as weakest since July 2008. Still, Silver Eagles have returned from the abyss with the help of falling precious metals which make the Eagle’s price-points more attractive to investors.

As for the latest numbers, bullion American Silver Eagles reached November sales of 1,559,000 on Friday. For the week, United States Mint Authorized Purchasers ordered 653,000 — strong, but down from the total of 906,000 from the previous week. Their year-to-date sales are at 39,418,500.

2011 Bullion Silver Eagles Sold by Month
January 6,422,000
February 3,240,000
March 2,767,000
April 2,819,000
May 3,653,500
June 3,402,000
July 2,968,000
August 3,679,500
September 4,460,500
October 3,064,000
November 1,384,000
December 1,559,000

With the proof sold out, the only other American Silver Eagles available are the uncirculated versions minted for coin collectors. The United States Mint on Monday reported that their weekly sales increased by 9,854, which was up from the previous 8,552. The collectibles were the Mint’s best-selling numismatic silver product. Their total is at 218,254 since their release on September 15, 2011.
